Deliver more, spend better
A municipality is a collective group of people pooling their resources to create a better standard of living. The goal should be to improve services to its citizens while staying as affordable as possible.
I believe we can improve services and experiences to make this a city you are proud to live in, without placing an excessive burden on taxpayers. The target should be for tax increases to stay below inflation, but use our budgets wisely where they will have the most impact.
This site is only an introduction. If you would like to know more about my platform or positions, reach out via the links.

Four years became a lifetime.
My name is Linnet, I'm a Ward 12 resident and a proud mom of six amazing children; four biological and two stepchildren. Our oldest is 12, and our youngest will turn two this December. When I was 18 years old, I moved to Sudbury to attend Laurentian University. I chose Laurentian because I had already fallen in love with this city. Its incredible natural beauty and welcoming small-town feel, despite being a larger city, reminded me so much of where I grew up in Washago.
This fall marks 18 years since I made Sudbury my home. I've now lived half of my life here, and today I'm raising my own children in the same community that gave me so much.
If someone had told me five years ago that I would one day run for City Council, I probably would have laughed. I never would have imagined it. But today, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to step forward and do everything I can to help make Sudbury the incredible place it was when I chose to build my life here.
I'm running because I want my children, and every family, to experience this city the way I did when I first arrived: as a place full of opportunity, community, and pride. I believe in Sudbury, and I'm ready to work hard to help build a future we can all be proud of.

Where I stand
Priorities built around delivering services to citizens.
Affordable housing, stronger communities
A safe and affordable home is more than a roof over someone’s head, it is the foundation for stability, dignity, and a healthy community. When people cannot afford their housing, even a small setback can lead to housing insecurity or homelessness. For people struggling with addiction or other challenges, having a stable place to live can make it easier to access treatment, connect with support services, maintain employment, and begin rebuilding their lives. Affordable and supportive housing will not solve homelessness or addiction on its own, but it is a very important part of the solution.
As a community, we should continue working toward increasing access to housing that people can actually afford, while strengthening the supports that help residents move from crisis toward stability. Everyone in Greater Sudbury deserves the opportunity to feel safe, secure, and at home in their community. I truly believe in the City's Housing First Policy and I'm committed to seeing it through.
Annual community driven efficiency reviews
In 2015, the City of Greater Sudbury launched a one‑time initiative called P6M, aimed at finding $6 million in efficiencies to keep taxes flat. The program invited cost‑saving ideas from both staff and residents, and it worked. $2.1 million in savings came from implemented suggestions. (The remainder came from staff attrition measures, which would not be part of this annual review.)
I propose making this kind of review an annual practice. We won’t uncover millions every year, but even modest savings that compound over time can make a meaningful difference. Diminishing returns shouldn’t stop us from continually improving how efficiently we use taxpayer dollars.
Rinks & fields
I would like to continue the Ward 12 councillor tradition of improving our parks.
The outdoor rinks in the city should be repaired, maintained and open for our kids to play. Some of our baseball fields need drainage improvements or to be regraded.
If a rink is maintained by volunteers, I would like to explore additional help the city can provide to keep them open.
Tennis courts, cricket fields, etc. Any improvements to free leisure and parks activities should be on the table to keep our citizens and their children active and happy.
Public trust
I am committed to being a force against misinformation by keeping you accurately informed about our city initiatives and debunking false narratives before they spread.
I would like to more effectively use existing city resources to get the message out to citizens about what is going on in their city.
Whether they vote for me or someone else, I would consider my campaign successful if I was able to help improve voter turnout.
Garbage system
Waste reduction initiatives are important. However, to provide relief for those with confirmed rat infestations, I'm proposing two temporary measures to help.
First, waive tipping fees under 80lbs (two "lifts") for those addresses.
Secondly, I would like to introduce a system to provide additional bag tags every month to those with rodent issues to avoid a backlog of garbage for residents without a suitable vehicle to go to the landfill.
Additionally, the tag system could be extended to large families in the longer term. In the current system, a single individual gets the same allocation as a large family, potentially contributing to the backlog and animal issues.
Ward 12 bullets
Oppose a straight through connection of Montrose to Maley drive. Support a meandering solution through the future planned subdivision instead, or alternatively, no connection at all if there is no new subdivision. Insist on a sidewalk the length of Montrose to improve safety if the meandering option is implemented.
Support for long-term flood mitigation efforts for the Flour Mill, including including continued push for the completion of the Junction Creek reconstruction and reprofiling.
Ward 12 outdoor rinks repaired and maintained where it is needed. Provide more resources to volunteers who keep the rinks open.
Flour Mill silos preservation and makeover.
More to come.
City Wide bullets
Explore the viability of a seniors property tax relief system, similar to what the city of Hamilton has in place. Allowing seniors on a lower fixed income to make ends meet more easily.
Support initiatives that would provide incentives to developers to build more affordable housing units. An example being Brantford's initiatives.
More to come.
